Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a profoundly subtle modality whose roots and philosophy come from the Shawnee tribe of North America, who deeply influenced the founder of Osteopathy, Dr Andrew Taylor Still.
“The deep interconnectedness of all things, within and without”
“We are nature, and it is us.”
"The body is self-healing and self-regulating”
A student of Dr Still, William Sutherland developed Cranial Osteopathy from this, and in his later years, his work evolved into what was to become the Biodynamic model.
This is a gentle hands-on therapy that can have far-reaching benefits for the horse. In a session, I am tuning in or listening to subtle rhythmic motions within the equine system(s) and energy field(s).
Where there may be restriction(s) or inertia, my orientation is to the Health (wholeness) within that and to the Health within the whole of the horse, which when given attention, awareness, and space, may be able to move or breathe in an improved way.
There is a deep Intelligence at work here ‘not framed by human hands’ that knows what to do.
A receptive listening presence and open attention can allow this Intelligence to resolve areas of inertia and restriction, allowing the Health to flow more freely within the body once more.
